During Milan Design Week 2019, Elisa Ossino and Josephine Yaa Akuamoah, founders and creative directors of H+O, revealed their first multi-room apartment installation, Perfect Darkness. A new concept of home where tiles take centre stage of the project. Besides covering walls and floors tiles are featured in each room serving as structural and architectonic elements.
The space is characterized by carefully selected furniture, objects and art pieces by international award-winning design studios and artists who all share a passion for creativity and innovation.
Since 2019, a series of installations have taken place in Via Solferino during Milan Design Week each year. The apartment has been the center for numerous concepts, themes and experiences created by the two founders. Many companies and artists have contributed with their distinctive design, artwork and technologies. Among them are: Artcoustic, Astep, Atelier Areti, Boffi, Cathrine Raben Davidsen, De Castelli, De-Tech, Dresswall, Dux, Fantini, File Under Pop, Formani, Frama, Henrik Vibskov, H+O, House of Finn Juhl, Menu, Muuto, Nesite, Officine Saffi, Pitt Cooking, Salvatori, Stine Goya and Tubes. Media partners: Kinfolk and Ark Journal.
Elisa Ossino Studio and File Under Pop have over the years collaborated on the interior and surface design of the apartment. The quintessential features of the project are the tiles, featured in every room of the space, and the use of geometric patterns running through the rooms with variations created by the use of different formats. Bespoke furniture with integrated tiles has been created and add character to the space. The choice of colors emphasises the vibration of light, highlighting the sequence of environments in a continuous transition from darker to brighter spaces.
